Sherwood FC 2 - 5 Lowdham Colts
Neil’s enlarged squad got off to a promising start this morning with Lewis, Lex, Ryan and Miciah playing in their first league match for Sherwood. There was some good passing and more communication between squad members than we saw last year, although there was still enough poor concentration in the first half for it to end with Lowdham four goals ahead.
The half-time team-talk obviously reinvigorated everyone and both pace and skill were on the up. Ryan was equally fantastic in midfield and defence and Kel managed two goals courtesy of excellent assists from Alfie and Nico.
The full-time score-line was 5-2. Neil and Steve can feel encouraged that they have a quality squad who will hopefully make an impression on the league this season. And what have some of the lads been eating over the holidays – Connor seems to be able to kick three times as far as he did last season and Jack is even faster!
