Sherwood FC 1 – 8 Lowdham Colts
Sherwood had a fantastic first half this morning, ending the first 35 minutes with only two goals conceded to Lowdham. Neil was buzzing with excitement. Finn in particular put in a gutsy performance, providing sterling support to Patrick in goal. The second half got off to a good start too with Kel banging in a goal for Sherwood. Unfortunately it was to be the only one, although there were several more just off target. While the passing was good, the damp and cold started to tell – so much so that Patrick had to come off as his hands and feet were frozen. Luke stepped into the breach and manfully wore the keeper’s jersey for the rest of the match – and managing a couple of good saves.
The final score was a disappointing 8 – 1, but we are getting there! Man of the Match went to Alfie Mac for some solid play – and against one of his best mates who plays for Lowdham.
