Sherwood Red 1 – 4 Pegasus Youth Warriors
This was rather a dispiriting match. The pitch was waterlogged near the centre circle although the sun did come out from time to time to alleviate the general damp and squelch. Pegasus needed only a few minutes to push themselves 2-0 ahead – a position that Sherwood then struggled to recover from. There was a great run from Bradley and a classic goal from Kel but by half-time we were 3-1 down.
The second half was nondescript. Connor was strong in defence as was Ethan out on the wing. Thomas was his usual reliable self, having recovered from being studded during the first half. We missed Tyler’s energy in mid-field although Vice-Captain Charlie did a good job organising his players. Unfortunately Sherwood were unable to up their game and Pegasus managed a fourth goal before the final whistle. Three points apiece this season then – although Sherwood still have the edge on goals scored.
